As social restrictions begin to lift, the mood among Canadians is improving.

Participants were statistically more likely to indicate feeling more positive emotions this week than in every week prior.

 As markets begin to open up, most are optimistic, but caution lingers.

The time Canadians are spending locked down, is driving a change in their behavior…they are buying more things online, being more frugal with purchases and questioning their need to shop.

Buying local, avoiding made in China

“I buy local, I buy quality. I avoid buying things made in China. I do not buy at dollar stores anymore because everything is made in China. I will not purchase products from a country with human rights issues.”

Weighing my needs

“I only buy what I need, I have started buying clothes from thrift stores…I am only buying essentials.”

“Since I am buying more things online, I find that I am comparing more and only buying what I really need.”
